Pressure Printing for Color Separation

Instructor: Barb Tetenbaum
Limited to 8 participants
$50.00

Using pressure printing to create rudimentary color separations, new life can be given to the many miscellaneous zinc, magnesium and copper half-tone image blocks found in most letterpress shops. We’ll walk through the basic steps involved and then participants will have the opportunity to do some hands-on experimentation with the technique to create a two color print. The prints will be editioned so that everyone comes away with a collection of samples.

Shapes in Motion: RISO Printing + Laser Cutting Adventures

$50.00

This 2.5-hour hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the playful intersection of RISO printing, laser cutting, and Adobe Illustrator. No prior experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and creativity! Quick and simple techniques for creatively utilizing high-tech equipment in conjunction with Riso printing will be covered. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with color overlays and unique combinations, resulting in one-of-a-kind prints. You’ll learn approachable techniques for generating laser-friendly designs and gain insight into how these designs can transform in the RISO printing process.

Expressive Screen Monoprinting

Instructor: Christie Tirado
Limited to 8 particiants
$50.00

This hands-on workshop explores screen monoprinting using water-soluble materials. Participants will create one-of-a-kind screen prints by combining hand-drawn imagery with bold color applications. We’ll start by developing a screen print from a hand-drawn image or an image of your choice. Then, we’ll experiment with hand-coloring techniques directly on the screen, allowing for dynamic layering and unique effects. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a collection of original prints and a fresh, creative approach to screen printing!
